The brief was to design the ultimate Martini glass that showed off the qualities of Baccarat’s work. Baccarat are famous for the quality of their crystal and the quality of their craftsmanship so it was important to try to encapsulate these elements into the design.

During an inspiring visit to Baccarat’s Amazing factory, we became particularly captivated by the Czar series which was designed in 1906 for Nicholas II. These historical pieces show off all of Baccarat’s intricate technical skills so this became our benchmark.

The new glass has a contemporary minimal aesthetic of two canonical forms connected by a fluid stem. The design also features a solid crystal base that magnifies an intricate guilloché pattern hand cut into the base, while the other signature detail are nine facets that flow from the top of base up to the parison. The quality of these details show off Baccarat’s superior skill and set it well apart from any standard glass.
