Delighted to present the FLW Chair yesterday for consideration to receive a Design Guild Mark.

Manufactured in Norfolk using 100% natural and sustainable materials, the upholstery is deliberately simplified—structured cushions with internal timber panels—balancing comfort, clarity, and efficiency.

Originally launched as part of the Ishinomaki / SCP’s 10-year anniversary in 2022, the design is now part of SCP’s main collection and has been thoughtfully refined—now featuring a fixed ash timber frame and fully natural upholstery.

The design draws from the architectural language of Fallingwater and the idea of a “floating tatami chair.” Three monolithic vertical pillars support upholstered elements and horizontal arms, creating a clear structural expression with a calm, grounded presence.
