Prop Chair is a contemporary interpretation of the classic director’s chair.
The aim was to create an indoor/outdoor folding chair that had good ergonomics and a clean aesthetic.
Usually fabric folding chairs have unsightly support struts across the back to act as a stopper. To remove this detail a hidden internal mechanism within the rear hinge was developed.
Named Prop after its distinctive propeller-shaped, pressed tubular steel frame.
The asymmetrical pressing, expertly crafted in the Treviso region of Italy, has a clean flat edge on the outside and inverted section on the inside. The turned maple arms have dished end details and machined recesses to accept the round capped frame.
